PAINTING THE MORK IDOL title image.
Painting terrain is just like painting any other model in your Warhammer army. You use many of the same techniques, and painting your terrain will make your battlefield look really good. Here are some simple step-by-step instructions on how you can paint the terrain that comes in the Battle for Skull Pass boxed set.

1
Mud. Begin by priming your model with black primer. Drybrush the earthy areas of the Idol with Bestial Brown. It doesn't really matter if you get some excess paint on other parts, as you will be painting over those areas in the next steps
2
Moon. Paint the moon Golden Yellow. To get good coverage with yellow paint over black, it's a good idea to apply several thin layers of Golden Yellow rather then one thick layer. Wait for each layer to dry and then paint another layer until no black is showing through.
3
Wood. Next, paint all the wood supports and spikes with Scorched Brown.

4
Bone. For the skulls, skeletons, and lashings, use Bleached Bone. Also, paint the tusks on the moon Bleached Bone. When painting the skulls and bones, leave the recesses black to give the bones more depth.
5
Mushrooms. Paint the mushroom caps and the eyes on the moon and the Idol with Blood Red. Paint the Mushroom stems Skull White. Then, paint the moon's tongue Tentacle Pink.
6
Metal. Finally, paint the Dwarf shield with Shining Gold and the chain with Chainmail.
